Google keeps putting books onto archive.org -- But many of them are bogus: try a pdf download and you jump to a dead-end Google books bibliographic record: no download! On the rare occasion a book is there, the scanning is badly processed b+w (unlike the high quality MSN work). Of course, when Google 'does' a library like Oxford, nobody else will do it. So we're left with dead links, poor scans and disincentives as Google's contribution to society. Hey, Archive.org, kick them off. No more bogus listings from Google please. It wastes my time trawling through their false 'uploads'.

The PDFs are there! Only, to see them you must not click on the link "PDF on Google.com"(that will bring you to a silly Google page with no download possible), but you must click on the "All Files: HTTP " line (with HTTP highlighted as a link) that comes after the list of all the formats available...Then you will see the page containing all the files, and if you click on the one ending by .pdf you'll download it normally.
This has worked for all the Google files I've tried to download, so I think they all work that way. (Anyway I agree it's stupid, and something should be done to correct this).

Thanks for the tip! Now if only all the books on Google Books own page that are acting in a similar way (non copyrighted books with snippet view only that are clearly fully scanned) could be accessed as easy as that.

you should try to find out the right way to download, I tried for minutes and get it. Thank Google, I get some books that are not easy to find in my country.
